Ahold

Netherlands-based retail group Ahold has announced consolidated net sales of €6bn for the third quarter of the year ending 4 October 2009.


Compared with the third quarter of 2008, net sales increased by 4.3 per cent, the retailer said in a statement.

At Ahold’s Albert Heijn supermarket subidiary, net sales rose by 5.4 per cent to €2.1bn, while sales at its Albert/Hypernova chain in the Czech Republic and Slovakia dropped by 8 per cent to €378m as a result of store closures.
