Amy Philpott has announced her resignation from the United Fresh Produce Association after almost five years as its vice-president of communications.
Ms Philpott will leave United Fresh on 20 February to take up a new position at Washington DC-based PR agency Watson & Mulhern on 23 February to specialise in crisis communications and issue management for the food and agricultural industries.
“I’m both sad and excited about taking this next step,” said Ms Philpott in an email. “I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked at United Fresh and with such a wonderful group of employees and industry members.”
Ms Philpott said her interest in crisis communication and issues management spurred from both her work at United Fresh and coursework for a master’s degree in public communications, which she achieved in May.
