BGP International says its new office in Egypt will help it expand requests from customers and ensure consistent supplies of high-quality produce throughout the year
Australia’s BGP International has announced the opening of an office in Egypt, as the company focuses on its core strengths in global sourcing, year-round supply and a robust export-import model.
“We can provide our clients with a whole range of products throughout the entire year,” said export manager Ahmed Ghazy.

The move follows BGP International’s merger with Fresh Solutions Group Pty, following which BGP continues to operate as a separate brand under the Fresh Solutions Group umbrella.
According to Ghazy, the merger indicates “significant growth ambitions”, merging BGP’s export strength with Fresh Solutions’ strong import and domestic marketing operations.
“The partnership with Fresh Solutions Group bolsters our capabilities on both local and global stages,” said Ghazy. “This allows us to enhance our operational capacity both domestically and internationally while retaining our unique brand identity.
“By leveraging our global sourcing model, we enhance our competitive edge in providing year-round fresh produce, making us an attractive option for international buyers. As trade in horticulture grows, BGP can leverage its established network and quality reputation, especially in Asia, to expand further into markets in Europe, Latin America and beyond.”
BGP’s core activities include exports of fruits like oranges, mandarins, grapes, cherries, strawberries, apples and pears, and vegetables like asparagus, imports of fresh produce for the Australian market, including kiwifruit, pomegranates, dates and citrus, marketing produce, managing logistics, ensuring quality control, traceability and compliance with regulations.
BGP now has 15 years’ experience in the Egyptian market and has spotted an opportunity for growth across the globe with products like Egyptian citrus. “The opening of the new office in Egypt will allow us to expand our requests from clients, providing them with produce all year round,” said Ghazy. “We ship around 1,000 containers of produce a year from Egypt, and we want to repeat that volume this season.
“We also source produce from Australia, South Africa, India, the US, China, Pakistan and Turkey, among others, which enables us to maintain year-round supply for our clients. Our approach allows us to collaborate with growers around the globe, ensuring a consistent supply of quality produce.”
