French grocery retailer Casino has reportedly reached an agreement to develop a network of hypermarket and supermarket outlets in Qatar and Oman.
The deal with Qatari Al Meera will see stores opened under the Géant and Géant Easy banners in the two countries, Planet Retail has reported.
As a first step towards this, Casino, Al Meera and Retail Arabia will sign a sub-franchise agreement allowing Al Meera Holding to develop and operate the stores.
The collaboration comes after a supply agreement was reached with Al Meera earlier in the year, which grantsthe companythe right to sell Casino-branded productsexclusivelyin Qatar.
