Former Chiquita and Del Monte industry veteran of 40 years has died, the company has announced

Chestnut Hill Farms has announced the death of Bill Sheridan, a member of its advisory board, who passed away on 2 May 2025.

”Bill was much more than a dedicated leader in the produce industry – he was a trusted mentor, advisor, and friend to many,” the company said.

”His career, which spanned over 40 years, had an indelible impact on the banana and pineapple industries.”

Sheridan worked for Chiquita, Del Monte, Banacol Marketing and One Banana throughout his lengthy fresh produce career.

He ”helped shape partnerships and improve the way the industry connects with customers and suppliers across the globe”, a Chesnut Hill Farms statement read.

“Bill’s passion, expertise, and unwavering commitment to his work were unmatched,” said Trond Jensen, CEO of Chestnut Hill Farms.

“He was a pillar of the produce industry, and his presence will be deeply missed by all of us who had the honor to know and work with him.”

The company said that, throughout his career, Sheridan was known for his integrity, tireless work ethic, and his dedication to the people and businesses he served.

“His contributions have left a lasting impact on the industry, and his absence will be felt profoundly by his colleagues, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to work with him,” it said.

”Chestnut Hill Farms extends its heartfelt condolences to Bill’s family, friends, and all those who mourn his passing.”
