Fresh produce company Chiquita will definitely relocate its European headquarters from its current location in the Belgian port city of Antwerp to a new office in the Swiss town of Rolle, according to reports in the Swiss press.
Michel Loeb, president of Chiquita Fresh Europe, brought months of speculation to an end on Friday night by confirming to Swiss-German television broadcaster SF that the company would indeed be moving its European base outside of the EU to the northern shore of Lake Geneva.
Daniel Belotti, president of Rolle, was reportedly delighted with the news. 'This is extremely good news which means people around the world will be talking about Rolle.'
According to the reports, Chiquita will employ approximately 100 people at its new headquarters.
