Independent credit rating specialist Standard & Poor (S&P) has raised the ratings on Chiquita Brands International, after an improved performance and financial picture.
S&P boosted the US-based fresh produce company's rating one notch to B from B-, with the outlook currently stable, according to the Associated Press.
The group has maintained a solid cash position, S&P reported, with stronger salad and banana profitability and debt repayment.
Last month, S&P raised fellow US multinational Fresh Del Monte's rating from BB- to BB, just two notches into 'non-investment' status, a result of the group's 'strong liquidityprofile'.
