Producer organisation takes over commercial licence from Fragaria, as it bids to consolidate grower marketing efforts

Apple marketing club Kiku has welcomed Croatian producer organisation Domaće Voće as its newest member.
The move sees the commercial licence for Kiku-branded apples in Croatia transfer from long-time partner Fragaria.
Domaće Voće was established recently to coordionate production and marketing activities on behalf of a number of growers – Fragaria included – across several regions of country, including Slavonia, Međimurje and Moslavina.
Its aim is to strengthen the position of locally grown fruit in the market and improving coordination between growers.
Apples represent an important part of its production, alongside pears, plums, strawberries, and other berries.
By joining Kiku, the same network of producers will continue to work with the brand, as Domaće Voće director Mirta Flanjak Laklija explains.
“The Kiku brand stands for premium quality and strong international recognition,” she said. “By integrating the Kiku licence within our producer organisation, we aim to further strengthen cooperation between Croatian fruit growers and bring high-quality apples from our orchards to consumers.”
Jürgen Braun, CEO of Kiku’s parent company Adema, commented: “Kiku is built on strong partnerships and dedicated growers. With the transfer of the licence to Domaće Voće, we continue the successful cooperation established over the past years and further strengthen the organisation of Kiku production in Croatia.”
