Ramos will serve as president of the Moguer-based cooperative for a three-year term

Spain’s Cuna de Platero has appointed new members to its governing board. It will be headed up by Juan Manuel Ramos will serve as president of the Moguer-based berry cooperative during the 2026–29 term.

Seven of the board’s eleven members will continue in their roles. They are joined by four new members, strengthening the organisation’s leadership team for the coming years.

“This new term allows us to continue working with composure, responsibility, and commitment toward the future of Cuna de Platero, our farmer-members, our team of professionals, and our berries,” Ramos said, adding that it was vital to “maintain stable management that is close to the members and focused on the sector’s challenges”.

In a press release, the company said the renewal of the governing board combines experience with fresh perspectives, ensuring an orderly transition and the continuity of the cooperative project. “The organisation will continue to advance its key strategic priorities: quality, sustainability, innovation, year-round customer service, and the defence of the cooperative model as an economic and social engine for Moguer and the surrounding area,” it stated.

For the first time, a woman will serve on the board, marking a significant step for the cooperative and brings a new perspective to the representation of the agricultural sector within the organisation.

Cuna de Platero’s governing board is composed of Juan Manuel Ramos as president; Emilio Juan González as vice president; Ángel Hernández as secretary; Mario Ruiz as treasurer; and board members José Antonio Márquez, José Manuel Márquez, José Manuel Liañez, Rafael Bogado, Miguel Ángel Ramos, José David Márquez, and María del Carmen Ramos.

Elections for the governing board – for which any member may freely stand as a candidate – are held every three years. Its members are elected by the entire membership at the general assembly. The governing Bboard serves as the governing body and is responsible for executing the resolutions adopted by the general assembly.
