Belgium-based retailer Delhaize has finalised the acquisition of four stores in Romania, currently operating under the Prodas Supermarket banner.

The Bucharest-based outlets have been snapped up for an undisclosed fee after receiving approval from the country's antitrust authorities.

The stores will be converted to Delhaize's Mega Image supermarkets within the next three months, according to media reports in the country.

The stores range in size from 400m2 to 750m2, and reportedly generated combined revenues of €12.3m last year.
