Frances Dillard has left berry marketer Driscoll’s, where she worked for almost 16 years – most recently as the group’s first ever chief communications officer – and helped to turn it into one of the world’s most recognised consumer brands.

Dillard, who announced her departure in a post on LinkedIn, was appointed to the brand new role in May 2025, having spent nearly a decade and a half leading the company’s North American marketing efforts.

“After almost 16 years, I am no longer with Driscoll’s,” she confirmed. “I joined a primarily North American berry business. Today, Driscoll’s is a trusted global, multibillion-dollar brand that brings berry joy to consumers around the world.”

Dillard played a major part in turning the brand into a global phenomenon through the development and roll-out of its first ever global brand identity.

As she described it, that meant having not just a refreshed logo, but a visual identity “system” that could be used across different markets, and one that brought it to the attention of millions of consumers.

She was also closely involved in building a formidable corporate reputation for the company in the US and abroad, in part by securing coverage with leading newspapers and broadcasters, and at major business events.

“Our company’s transformation unfolded through ‘unprecedented’ times of a pandemic, fires, floods and freezes, tariffs, geopolitical tensions, climate pressure and moments when the brand itself was tested,” she commented.

“Thank you to the Driscoll’s colleagues who taught me, challenged me, and made me laugh,” she added. “Together, we created work that mattered. You made this a meaningful part of my life.”
