Recent adverse weather in Spain and Morocco has apparently left a number of retailers in the Netherlands short of supply

Dutch supermarkets have reported shortages of fresh produce including berries and vegetables in recent days following heavy rainfall in southern Spain and Morocco.
As reported on a number of local news websites, Albert Heijn confirmed that availability of soft fruit including blueberries, raspberries and strawberries would be limited, as would supplies of some vegetables, tomatoes, and herbs.
Two other leading supermarket chains, Jumbo and Plus, said they also faced supply challenges.
“We are expecting the problems to continue this week and the next,” a spokesperson for Jumbo told Algemeen Dagblad. “We do have enough soft fruit in stock from Dutch growers.”
However, another news outlet called Omroep Delft reported: “Not all stores are experiencing delivery problems. For example, the Aldi on Papsouwselaan still had raspberries and blueberries available on Thursday afternoon.”
