CEO Juan Pablo Duque described the company’s participation in the event as “an incredibly successful experience”.

“Being selected as the best agtech company in the world at SelectUSA 2025 is a powerful validation of the Equilibria ecosystem,” he told Fruitnet. “It inspires us to keep building, improving and growing.”

The company has developed a proprietary app-based technology platform, EQApp, to monitor and manage agricultural activities and provide remote technical assistance to small and medium-sized lime producers in Colombia. The aim to ensure consistent, high-quality production that meets the stringent standards of international markets, guaranteeing full traceability.

The app is the lynchpin of Equilibria’s EqPaís venture, which seeks to capitalise on growing international demand for Colombian limes by bringing small and medium-sized producers under the Equilibria umbrella to create a productive block of 2,000ha that will supply the international market directly.

As Duque outlined, the aim is to “consolidate a collaborative ecosystem that not only boosts the rural economy but also elevates Colombia as a benchmark for agricultural excellence”.

According to Duque, Equilibria’s participation in SelectUSA has sparked strong international interest from agricultural companies who want to take EQApp to their countries and replicate our model through their own operations. A bank also expressed interest in using EQApp to monitor and support the farmers they finance, enabling better technical follow-up.

“We’re especially grateful to Comfama for organising the mission that made our participation possible, and to the US Department of Commerce delegates, who generously supported us in securing the right meetings with economic development offices,” Duque said.
