Nut specialist Euro Company has been showcasing a variety of retail pack concepts at Fruit Attraction in Madrid, as it looks to tap into everyday consumer habits and boost nuts’ prominence in the fresh produce aisle.

The group, which boasts more than 45 years’ experience in sourcing and processing nuts and dried fruit, has displayed a variety of retail pack concepts at the event, with formats combining visibility and convenience.

These packs, it pointed out, are designed as not just different packaging solutions, but also as tools to help retailers manage and develop the category.

”Underpinning this is a clear view of the fresh produce aisle as a space particularly well suited to nuts,” Euro Company explained.

”Alongside fresh fruit and vegetables, products such as walnuts, almonds and dried fruit can strengthen their association with natural provenance, quality and minimal processing.

”It is a logic Euro Company has consolidated in the Italian market and intends to share with international partners too,” it continued.

Among the packaging concepts n show in Madrid is the €0.99 price-point format, developed to make purchasing simple and accessible through a broad assortment and fast-moving SKUs; the Impulse Portion Pack, which allows nuts to move beyond their dedicated shelf and find space in several parts of the retail outlet; transparent rPET snack pots; and the resealable doypack, designed to combine ease of use, light weight and shelf impact.

“Our aim is not simply to offer products, but to work alongside retailers to develop the category, building assortments and solutions that create value for both the consumer and the store,” said Michele Schiavina, export sales director at Euro Company.

“The experience gained in Italy now allows us to bring different models to international markets, adaptable to the characteristics of individual channels and local buying behaviour.”
