Spanish citrus and soft fruit trade fair Expo-citfresa has announced the cancellation of its 2012 edition and the conversion of the exhibition into a bi-annual event, as a result of the “current economic situation”.
The trade show, which was due to be staged in Cartaya, Andalusia between 22-24 February 2012, will now hold its next edition in 2013, Expo-citfresa’s organising committee announced in a press release on the event’s website.
In the statement, the committee said it had voted to adopt a motion from Cartaya mayor, Juan Polo, to suspend the exhibition for a year after taking into account “the current economic situation” faced by regional administrations and fruit producers.
Polo said organisers would use the “pause” to work on delivering a “more efficient, more professional and better quality” event for 2013.
