Fruit Attraction 2026, organised by Ifema Madrid and Fepex, has published its post-show report showing that 128,364 professionals from 170 countries attended the 18th edition of the show, representing a 6 per cent increase in attendance compared to the previous year.

The event also significantly expanded its international reach, welcoming visitors from 18 new markets compared to 2025.

“Of the total number of visitors, 45 per cent were international, reflecting the event’s increasingly global and professional profile,” the organisers said. “Spain maintained a strong presence, with Andalusia, Valencia, Murcia and Catalonia among the leading participating regions. International visitors mainly came from European countries including Italy, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, the UK and Germany, as well as from other regions such as Chile, Peru, South Africa and Brazil.”

A total of 2,588 companies from 79 countries exhibited 162,000m2 of exhibition space. This represents a 4 per cent increase in exhibiting companies and a 23 per cent rise in international participation compared to the previous edition, according to the organisers.

“Fruit Attraction once again served as a platform for international business development through its International Buyers Programme, organised in collaboration with the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Icex and Fepex,” the report noted.

“The programme brought 600 major buyers, retail purchasing managers, importers and wholesalers from 62 countries to Madrid. The Guest Importing Countries Programme, featuring China and the UAE this year, further strengthened international trade opportunities.”

The event’s also featured a programme of conferences and technical sessions, together with Factoría Chef, attracted more than 3,337 attendees across 107 sessions, during which 221 speakers explored the latest trends in innovation, sustainability, logistics and fresh produce technology.

Two events were held on the eve of the exhibition: the Avocado Congress, which gathered 645 attendees, and the Potato Symposium, attended by 273 professionals.
