The organisers of Fruit Attraction say they managed to attract more than 121,000 visitors from over 150 countries to this week’s show in Madrid – a figure which matched the forecast attendance figure they issued in May, as well as the reported 121,137 industry professionals said to have been present at its 2025 edition.

Host Ifema and Spanish trade association Fepex also said they had welcomed more than 55,200 visitors on the event’s second day – apparently a record for any show at the venue, and a milestone they said confirmed the event’s “extraordinary growth and international leadership”.

According to estimates for this year’s event, Fruit Attraction gathered together 2,500 exhibiting companies from 78 countries – including 51 per cent from Spain itself.

The closing press release said the show occupied 162,000 sq m of exhibition space, although that figure would appear to correspond more closely to the event’s gross floor area, and so would represent an unlikely increase from last year’s reported exhibitor space of 78,212 sq m.

As Ifema and Fepex pointed out, fruit and vegetables lead the way when it comes to Spanish agriculture, and generated €21.9bn in 2025, according to official government data.

Almost 60 per cent of the 24.64mn tonnes it generated in that 12-month period reportedly went for export.

“Fruit Attraction reinforces this leadership, acting as a strategic meeting point between supply and demand, and as a catalyst for continuing to boost the industry’s international competitiveness,” said the organisers.
