The organisers of fresh produce trade fair Fruit Attraction, which took place this week in Madrid, have claimed another record participation for the three-day exhibition.

According to event operator Ifema Madrid and Spanish industry association Fepex, more than 120,000 professionals from 150 countries attended the show.

Present were a reported 2,460 exhibitors from 64 countries – as in previous years, the first number includes an estimated 600 co-exhibitors – apparently representing growth of 8.4 per cent over last year, and occupying 10 per cent more space at 78,000m².

More than half those exhibitors were from Spain itself. “The presence of all Spain’s fruit- and vegetable-producing regions underscores the country’s strength as a global leader in the horticultural market and confirms Fruit Attraction’s importance as a benchmark platform to showcase Spain’s productive and export capacity on the international stage,” Ifema said.
