Fruit Logistica supported this week’s 11th International Table Grape Symposium (ITGS) in Murcia as a sponsor, underlining the importance of the table grape sector for the global fresh produce business.

The symposium brought together around 700 professionals from around the world to exchange knowledge, discuss market developments and explore the latest innovations in table grape production.

“Table grapes are a truly global category, with production, trade and innovation spanning all major fresh produce markets. That is exactly why the sector has such a strong presence at Fruit Logistica. In Berlin, producers and exporters meet buyers from around the world, while at the same time seeing how new varieties, technologies and consumer trends are shaping the future of the category,” said Silvia de Juanes, communications director for Spain and Latin America at Fruit Logistica.

According to Fepex export data for 2025, Spain exports between 45 and 55 per cent of its table grape production, depending on the harvest. The main destinations in 2025 remained largely unchanged from previous years, with Germany leading the way (€116mn), followed by the UK (€79mn), Portugal (€60.8mn), France (€48.4mn) and the Netherlands (€39.4mn). Together, these markets accounted for around €265mn of the sector’s €483mn total export value, representing 55 per cent of Spain’s table grape exports.

“It is not just about exporting volume, but about delivering value through exceptional varieties that attract consumers and encourage repeat purchases,” said Josefina Mena, commercial director at Moyca Grapes.

Highlighting the role of the Berlin trade show in the company’s international strategy, Mena added: “Fruit Logistica is a key event for Moyca. It allows us to meet customers from different markets and showcase our varieties to professionals from around the world”.

AMFresh has also made innovation a strategic priority, using Fruit Logistica as a platform to showcase its latest developments. The company won the Fruit Logistica Innovation Award (FLIA) in 2025 for its premium Onyx orange and was named a finalist again in 2026 with Boombites Red Berry Grapes, a red-fleshed grape developed by Bloom Fresh. As Patricia Sagarminaga, global director of marketing and communication at AMFresh Group, noted: “Fruit Logistica is the place to meet, connect, share and help shape the future of fresh produce”.

Companies looking to follow in AMFresh’s footsteps can now submit their entries for the FLIA 2027 in its two categories: Fresh Produce and Technology. These prestigious awards recognise products, services and technologies that bring new solutions to the fresh produce industry:

In 2026, around 2,600 exhibitors from approximately 90 countries presented their products, services and technical solutions, while close to 90,000 participants from 151 countries attended the event.

The next edition of Fruit Logistica will take place from 3 to 5 February 2027 in Berlin, once again bringing together professionals from across the international fresh produce value chain.
