The second day of Fruitnet Tomato Congress, held in Malaga on 11-12 November, sees delegates explore the facilities of Rijk Zwaan, Unica Group and Granada La Palma
Following a day of talks, discussions and networking in Malaga, Spain, delegates at Fruitnet Tomato Congress, taking place on 11-12 November, will head on tour across southern Spain.
The first stop is Unica Group at the company’s Parque Científico-Tecnológico de Almería, where visitors will follow the receiving, sorting and packaging process, and explore innovations in logistics and sustainability.
Delegates will then visit breeder Rijk Zwaan’s test greenhouses and research and development centre in El Ejido to explore the company’s varietal innovation and sustainability efforts, as well as product tasting.
The tour will conclude at the facilities of Spanish cooperative Granada La Palma for a look at, and quick taste of, the company’s manifold tomato varieties and wide fresh-cut offering.
This year’s conference is focused on the future of the tomato sector, with a packed programme exploring the trends and demands that are likely to guide the business from now until 2030 and beyond.
