Orsero Group subsidiary invests in expanded processing capacity and new technology to meet growing consumer demand

Italian importer Fruttital, part of Orsero Group, has completed a major expansion and modernisation of its fresh-cut facility in Verona.
According to the company, the investment further strengthens its production capacity in a segment that has seen growing consumer interest in fresh, safe, and ready-to-eat products in recent years.
The expansion includes a doubling of its processing area from 564m2 to over 1,100m2, and will apparently enable Fruttital to manage a larger flow of production more efficiently.
“We strongly believe in the potential of fresh-cut produce, a category that continues to grow thanks to its ability to concretely meet consumers’ needs for convenience, quality, and freshness,” commented Daniele Viti, CEO of Fruttital.
“The expansion of our Verona facility fits precisely into this direction, doubling its surface area and production capacity. Our goal is to further improve service, increase efficiency, and support the category’s long-term development.”
Tech improvement
As well as expanding the facility, the company has installed new automatic and semi-automatic technological solutions.
Among these is a second line dedicated to pineapples and melons, allowing those products to be processed simultaneously and doubling overall capacity.
Meanwhile, a new coconut line has introduced new, more efficient peeling and heat treatment processes.
All of the new technology is expected to help improve food safety, raise operational standards, and deliver significant performance benefits.
Fruttital’s Verona site plays a central role in the company’s overall production network in Italy, which incudes four dedicated hubs in Verona, Florence, Cagliari, and Bari.
Having those four hubs, it said, ensured proximity to market, rapid delivery, and continuity of service to supermarket customers.
