Madrid’s Fruit Attraction will host a high-level panel discussion and networking reception organised by Global Women Fresh next month. Titled “Beyond good intentions: What really advances women in leadership”, the event will focus on what it really takes to get women into top positions and what leading companies are doing differently to turn good intentions into meaningful progress.

According to Global Women Fresh, meaningful progress requires leaders to rethink how they want to grow, structure and cultivate their organisations – and to put practical measures in place that create real opportunities for women to advance.

“At this event, we want to move beyond commitments and ambitions and open an honest, practical conversation about what organisations are doing differently – and why it works,” Global Women Fresh president Europe, Danitza Sanchez, told Fruitnet.

“From recruitment and talent acquisition to professional development, career progression, and access to leadership opportunities, we want to bring real examples to the table. Our goal is for participants to leave not only inspired, but with practical ideas they can take back to their own organisations and turn into action—creating tangible benefits for both women and their organisations.”

The panel will be made up of Maria Wieloch, acting business area director, fruit, vegetables and flowers at Ica Sweden; Marta Sanjuan, managing director of Montosa; Charlotte Knowles, group marketing and communications director at Agroberries; Marianela Ubilla, vice president of the Ecuadorean Association of Banana Exporters (Aebe) and CEO of Agzulasa; Frédérine Derlot, programme office, Market Linkages, ITC United Nations; Gissèle Falcón Haro, CEO of Siete Agromarketing, and Dioni Suárez Yurivilca, managing director or Kivinaki. It will be moderated by Maura Maxwell, managing editor of Fruitnet.

The event will be held in cooperation with Fruit Attraction, Import Promotion Desk, Siete Agromarketing, #MujerAgro and Aebe.

The event takes place on Tuesday, 6 October at 17:30 at Fruit Forum Nucleo 1-3.
