Finnish wholesaler Vegepörssi has taken ownership of Greenfood Group’s Spanish business, opening door to further growth in Europe

Finnish fresh produce wholesaler Vegepörssi has acquired Greenfood Iberica from Greenfood Group.
In a statement, the Spanish company said the move marked an important new chapter for its business, noting that joining Vegepörssi would support both companies’ ambition to grow in the European fresh produce market.
The move is also seen as giving Greenfood Iberica a “strong partner” for its next stage of development, and to build on the “solid foundation” it established under its previous Nordic ownership with “greater focus and pace”.
“Joining Vegepörssi is an important strategic step for Greenfood Iberica,” said Adnan Pervez, CEO of Greenfood Iberica. “It strengthens our relationships with customers and supply partners and creates new opportunities for growth across Europe, while our day-to-day operations remain unchanged.”
That continuity for customers and partners would mean the way Greenfood Iberica worked with them would not change, the company noted.
“You will be speaking with the same people, ordering in the same way and receiving the same quality and service you already know from us. The difference is the strength now behind us.
“We thank Greenfood Group for our time together, and our employees, customers and suppliers for their continued trust. We look forward to this new chapter with Vegepörssi.”
The deal follows Greenfood Group’s decision last year to sell its Nordic fresh produce operations to Dole. That transaction, completed in July 2026, included businesses such as Greenfood Fresh Produce International, Ewerman and Finnish wholesaler Satotukku, but specifically excluded Greenfood Iberica, which remained under Greenfood Group’s ownership.
At the time, Greenfood said the disposal would allow it to sharpen its focus on its Food Solutions and Picadeli businesses.
