Sánchez will lead the expansion of GWF initiatives throughout Europe

Global Women Fresh (GWF), the international platform dedicated to advancing women in the fresh produce and agricultural industries, has appointed Danitza Sánchez as the new president of its European chapter.
Sánchez’s career spans over two decades across Latin America and Europe, including previous roles at Driscoll’s and Camposol. Since 2022 she has been business development director at Dole.
GWF said she brings “an unparalleled level of energy, passion, and commitment to the mission of elevating women in the industry”, adding that “her deep expertise in global markets, commercial strategy, and cross-cultural leadership uniquely position her to accelerate GWF’s impact across Europe”.
“Danitza represents exactly what GWF stands for – bold leadership, authentic connection, and unstoppable commitment to empowering women at every level of our industry,” said Julie Escobar, GWF’s founder. “Her vision for the European market aligns perfectly with our mission to build the world’s strongest network of women in produce.”
In her new role, Sánchez will lead the expansion of GWF initiatives throughout Europe, including leadership development programmes, strategic partnerships, mentoring networks, and industry-wide events designed to elevate women’s representation and influence. She will also play a central role in shaping GWF’s global agenda alongside regional leaders.
“I am deeply honored to take on this role,” Sánchez said. “GWF is not just a network – it’s a global community that promotes more opportunities and expand business in our sector. Together, we will create more visibility and opportunities, and more seats at the table for women across the European fresh produce industry.”
This appointment marks a significant milestone in Global Women Fresh’s strategic growth as the organisation continues to expand its influence across continents, uniting women leaders to drive change in agriculture, sustainability, and global food systems.
