German shipper Hamburg Süd has announced that it is making alterations to its North Europe-South Mediterranean service (NESM), with changes coming in from 11 December this year.

According to the group, the service will offer for the first time three calls at Israeli ports, enabling the company to offer superior service to the business community in general and the agriculture sector in the south of Israel, in particular.

The new port rotation will see calls at Ashdod, Haifa, Mersin, Ashdod, Alexandria, Felixstowe , Antwerp, Hamburg, Tangiers, Alexandria and Ashdod.

The first sailing of the reconfigured rotation will start with the M/V LORRAINE 049, departing Felixstowe on 11 December, with the NESM operating with five units, with capacities ranging from 2,500 to 2,700 TEU.
