Shipping giant relaunches dedicated service into European and North American markets for third season

Shipping giant Hapag-Lloyd says it has improved transit times for citrus shipped from South Africa to Portugal.
The company said the improvement would offer exporters “more options” as it relaunched its Citrus Connect service for the third year.
The service offers dedicated shipment of temperature-sensitive cargo out of Durban and Port Elizabeth, and connects with ports in northern and southern Europe, as well as Canada and the US.
According to the group, Citrus Connect is designed to support orange, lemon and grapefruit supply chains from start to finish, with expert teams available in South Africa itself “throughout the season”.
