The Interpera 2025 International Pear Congress will be held on 25-26 June in Hasselt, Belgium
The Corda Campus in Hasselt, Belgium, will be the location of the latest edition of the International Pear Congress, Interpera, which takes place on 25-26 June.
Co-organised by AREFLH and VBT, the annual event brings together international players in the sector to discuss common issues and share the latest advances.
The first day will open with two strategic round tables devoted to the past season in the main European producing countries: France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Spain and Italy.
This will be followed by an update on the coming season, with harvest forecasts for these six countries.
The afternoon will be devoted to presentations by experts on several key issues for the sector, including marketing, digital orchards and consumption.
On 26 June, participants will take part in a day of technical field visits.
According to the organisers, the highlight of the day will be a hands-on immersion in Belgian farming practices, encouraging the exchange of experiences and direct observation of innovations in the orchard.
Luc Vanoirbeek, secretary general of VBT, said the Interpera conference offers not only the opportunity to acquire new knowledge based on figures, but also the chance to network.
”It’s a chance to talk to over 130 colleagues about the past season, good or bad, to think about the season to come and hope for a good harvest without devastating climatic hazards,” he said.
”One of the keys to Interpera’s success since 2008 has been the opportunity for international players to exchange views.”
AREFLH vice-president Lisa Martini said that “Interpera 2025 promises to be a stimulating and instructive event”.
