Israeli ports handle 195,000 TEU

Statistics released last week by the port directorate at the Israeli ministry of transport have revealed that in July some 195,000 TEU were handled by the three Israeli maritime ports of Ashdod, Haifa and Eilat.

Haifa port reportedly handled 111,000 TEU, while Ashdod handled 84,000 TEU, Port2Port reported.

In total, the two main ports, Ashdod and Haifa, unloaded 99,000 TEU and loaded 96,000 TEU, it said.

During July the three ports handled a total of 3.57m tonnes, the port directorate revealed, with Haifa handling nearly 2m tonnes, Ashdod 1.44m tonnes and Eilat some 81,000 tonnes.
