This is the first time the trademark is being used to denote that the product is made exclusively from Spanish lemons

Spanish lemon and grapefruit interprofessional Ailimpo’s Limón de España (Lemon from Spain) brand is to be added to the packaging of Don Simón lemonade, one of the country’s best-known drinks brands.
García-Carrión, the company that owns the Don Limón brand and a member of Ailimpo, said it would enable consumers to clearly identify the Spanish origin of the lemons used as the raw material in these products.
This is the first time the registered trademark is being used in this way and marks a new step in the strategy behind the Limón de España brand, which seeks to differentiate and highlight Spanish lemons based on their quality, food safety, sustainability, and guaranteed origin.
“The goal is simple: to ensure that the lemon’s origin is not information hidden in the fine print, but rather a recognisable feature of the product,” it said.
A media presentation will take place during Fruit Attraction. José Antonio García, director of Ailimpo, commented: “The inclusion of the Limón de España brand in García-Carrión’s lemonades is excellent news for the entire Spanish lemon value chain. It allows us to convey the value of Spanish origin to the consumer and demonstrates that there is an opportunity to continue building value around our product – including through processing and new forms of consumption”.
García-Carrión said consumers are increasingly demanding transparency and want to know where the ingredients in the products they buy come from. It noted that using the Limón de España brand is a way to recognise the value of Spanish lemons and convey that guarantee of origin directly to the consumer”.
It believes the initiative also represents an opportunity to strengthen the connection between farmers, industry, and consumers, creating added value from a raw material produced in Spain.
