With 17 years at Kölla and extensive international experience, De Luca will focus on innovation and digitalisation to address industry challenges.
Fresh produce importer Kölla Group has named Marcus De Luca as the new managing director of Kölla Nova, its specialist supply division for discount retailers.
Effective 1 August, the company said the appointment would strengthen its existing leadership team, adding that it sent out “a clear signal of continuity and forward-looking strategy”.
De Luca, who has been with Kölla for the past 17 years, has worked in the fruit and vegetable industry since 1998 and is said to bring a deep understanding of all stages of the supply chain.
His career began with wholesaler Manss in Hamm, North Rhine-Westphalia, followed by three years of hands-on international experience with various producers in Italy.
He has also held key roles at Edeka Fruchtkontor in Munich, and Milan-based supplier Gandolfo.
With such extensive experience and commitment to the industry, De Luca is considered one of the leading professionals in the European fresh produce sector, Kölla Group CEO Marc Nikolai commented.
“Marcus brings extensive experience in managing complex processes and a deep understanding of the demands of our industry. His analytical strength, combined with a clear focus on innovation and digitalisation, makes him a valuable addition to our leadership team,” he said.
“The challenges in the fruit and vegetable sector are diverse—from sustainability and supply chains to digital transformation. With our strong and dynamic management team, we are well positioned to meet them.”
De Luca added: “I am very much looking forward to this new role and to working together with the dedicated team at Kölla Nova and my colleagues across the entire Kölla Group to further develop our company.
“Our goal is to strategically build on Kölla Nova’s strengths, deepen our relationships with customers and producers, and sustainably strengthen our market position.”
