Malaga-based company becomes the first Spanish company to partner with the global network
Montosa has become the first Spanish entity to join the Global Women Fresh global alliance as a sponsor. Montosa’s incorporation into this global network, which works on industry standards for equality, leadership training and visibility initiatives for women in agriculture, represents another step forward in the company’s commitment to gender equality.

“We believe that the development of the sector depends on improving and expanding opportunities for the women who are part of it. This not only means offering equal working conditions but also providing tools to enable women to access leadership positions. Being part of this network reinforces our commitment to equality and raises it to the international level,” said Marta Sanjuan, managing director of Montosa.
Danitza Sánchez, president of Global Women Fresh in Europe, commented: “The fact that a large company such as Montosa has joined this alliance is a very significant step for our network in Spain. We are confident that it will serve to encourage other Spanish companies and enable us to promote initiatives not only in Spain but also in Latin America, where Montosa has an extensive network of partners”.
This international sponsorship is part of Montosa’s equality policy, which already earned it the Mujer Agro seal (Women in Agriculture Seal) since 2025. This recognition distinguishes companies with active equality policies in the workplace, an equality plan in place and female representation of at least 50 per cent in the workforce or a minimum of 30 per cent in the management team. With 54.40 per cent of its workforce being women and a female majority in management and middle management positions, Montosa demonstrates its real commitment within its own organisational structure.
At regional and national level, Montosa also participates in specific actions against gender violence and sponsors the Mujer Agro Awards and the Mujer Agro Forum.
