The move is part of Montosa’s ongoing evolution as it adapts its structure to the growth achieved in recent years and prepares to undertake new expansion projects.

Regodón’s professional career combines expertise in the agri-food sector with innovation and technology. He has worked for companies in the sector such as Trops, where he established and led the Innovation and Sustainability Department; technology companies such as Vodafone, where he was responsible for technology solutions through partners in Andalusia; and Cajamar, where he held roles focused on digital transformation in the agri-food sector.

He holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering, and Master’s in Digital Transformation of the Agri-food Sector and Innovation and Internationalisation of Companies.

“I am joining Montosa with the enthusiasm and aim of bringing my vision and expertise to the company, as well as developing cross-functional and innovative projects that will help Montosa continue to grow and further strengthen its pioneering and innovative approach,” he said.

Montosa said the new department would help it to anticipate technological developments in the agri-food sector. Digitalisation is transforming processes and working models, whilst technologies such as artificial intelligence, automation and data analysis are opening up new possibilities for companies in the sector.

Against this backdrop, the company wants to identify solutions that can be practically applied within the organisation and that will help improve its efficiency and responsiveness to the current and future needs of the business itself.

“One of my main objectives is to ensure that new technologies – whether artificial intelligence or any other that may emerge – can bear fruit within the company and help it to grow even further,” Regodón said. “I am joining a team of exceptional personal and professional calibre, which is, ultimately, what makes a company great.”

One of Montosa’s key strategic growth priorities is to increase sales of fresh avocados by 30 per cent, expanding its range of ready-to-eat products and strengthening its logistics network in Europe. The company will continue to focus on strategic markets such as France, the UK and Germany, where it plans to continue consolidating its presence.
