Coop Schweiz

Coop Schweiz has revealed that it increased its net profit through the full year of 2010, up 9 per cent on the previous 12 months to hit CHF470m (€359m).

Planet Retail reported that takeovers had partly contributed to the growth, including the acquisition of the TransGourmet Group, helping push total net sales up 1.6 per cent to CHF19bn (€14.5bn).

Earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 11.1 per cent to CHF2bn (€1.5bn), while EBIT climbed 15.4 per cent to CHF709m (€541m).
