Top-fruit marketing desk Worldwide Fruit has signed an agreement with the Associated International Group of Nurseries (AIGN) for international use and marketing of its unique 'Papple' fruit variety.

The Papple, which shares appearance and taste attributes of an apple despite being a part of the pear family, was launched into UK stores by M&S last year.

As part of the variety's expansion, Worldwide Fruit says it will have planted 15,000 Papple trees into the UK by the end of winter in 2015.
