Oppenheimer

The Oppenheimer Group has appointed Evan Myers to be its stonefruit category director.

Myers joined the Vancouver-based business six years ago in a quality assurance role, earning promotion to category coordinator for grapes and stonefruit a year later and becoming category manager for stonefruit in 2009.

Myers said: “Increasing our overall volumes – especially with imported cherries – will be a major area of focus. I’ve received feedback from retailers who want to promote cherries all season long due to strong customer demand.”

In particular, Myers is expected to increase the distribution of Oppenheimer's stonefruit on the North American West Coast.

Before joining Oppenheimer, Myers managed apple and blueberry orchards and greenhouses, and was involved in managing a wide variety of row crops in Vermont.
