France’s Primland says the season for Oscar Gold from South Africa looks “very promising”, as the company highlights the importance of its strong Apartnerships with kiwifruit growers

French kiwifruit marketer Primland has welcomed the start of the new Oscar Gold season in South Africa, with containers on their way to Europe.

“The start of each campaign is always a special moment,” said the company’s Olivier Pouilhes, “the moment when a whole year of work is achieved in the orchards.”

Primland said it expected a good campaign this year. “This season looks very promising, driven by exceptional quality: golden flesh, well-balanced sweetness and a melting texture,” the company stated.

The marketer stressed the importance of its partnerships with the men and women who grow the fruit. “For more than seven years, a strong and lasting partnership has been built with South African growers,” said Pouilhes. “A collaboration based on trust, high standards and a shared vision.”

That shared vision is to offer a premium kiwifruit that has been carefully cultivated and meets the highest standards. “This success is no coincidence,” he said. “It is the result of a shared commitment built on sustainability, agronomic expertise, quality processes control, and a common ambition to provide our markets with an ongoing quality service.”
