Genetics Forum event in the Netherlands attracts nurseries, growers and retailers from across Europe

Planasa recently hosted more than 50 visitors – including nurseries, growers, and retailers from across Europe – at event at Berry Brothers’ facilities in the Netherlands to present its new raspberry variety, Pink Rosita.

Participants came from countries such as Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, and the UK to learn about the new variety, which, according to Planasa, “stands out for its exceptional flavour and outstanding harvesting efficiency”.

At the event, the company’s EMEA rubus breeding manager, Elisa Pérez, and commercial developer Northern Europe, Sjoerd Van Gestel, along with Clara Spruyt from Belgian testing centre PCfruit presented the key attributes of Pink Rosita. They highlighted the variety’s “unique balance sugar and acid, combined with its remarkable picking speed, which provides clear advantages for growers in terms of labour efficiency and profitability”.

Following the presentations, participants had the opportunity to visit the fields, observe Pink Rosita in production, and taste the fruit first-hand.
