Plus Berries has finished planting strawberries for the 2026/27 season and is now entering the initial weeks of crop development. The group said the planting process proceeded as planned, and it is currently carrying out targeted replanting for a few specimens that failed to take root properly.

“It is still too early to evaluate the season, but the planting went well, and the plants are coming along quite nicely,” said David Vélez, a technician at Plus Berries. “We’ve had to replace some plants – which is standard for this stage – but overall, they are responding well in the field.”

The successful establishment of the crop allows the group to look ahead to the coming months with optimism. Provided that conditions remain favourable, the plants are expected to continue developing well, with harvesting set to begin on schedule – yielding high-quality fruit right from the start of the season.

The group said it is hopeful that the rain forecast for early November will further boost crop development. “Once the much-anticipated rain arrives, the plants will respond even better. We’re hoping for rain in early November,” Vélez noted.

With planting now complete, the group is focusing its efforts on monitoring the crop in preparation for the start of the harvest.
