Experienced executive with over 25 years in trade organisations takes over leadership from Cathy van Beek

Dutch industry association GroentenFruit Huis has named Remco Heeremans as its new chair, replacing Cathy van Beek.
Heeremans is described by the group as an experienced executive with a broad background in trade and umbrella organisations.
“In his career spanning over 25 years, he has worked at the intersection of business interests, societal issues, and political-administrative decision-making,” it stated. “His expertise includes governance, strategy, stakeholder management, and public affairs.”
Heeremans said he looked forward to continuing to build a strong position for the fruit and vegetable sector together with the body’s members, board, and management.
And he said he was committed to making the association “strong and future-proof”, with a focus on both large and smaller members and diversity within supply chains.
“I value good collaboration between the board, the operational organisation, and other parties, as well as an open connection with members: close enough to know what is going on, professional enough to steer towards the common interest and the long term,” he commented.
The board of GroentenFruit Huis expressed its great appreciation for Cathy van Beek’s contribution.
“With her unifying leadership, social commitment, and focus on health and sustainability, she has made a lasting contribution to the development of the organization and collaboration within the supply chain,” it said.
“The board and members bid farewell to a valued chairperson who has represented GroentenFruit Huis with conviction and dedication.”
