Horticultural group announces Co-CEO leadership structure ahead of planned handover in 2027

Netherlands-based horticultural group Royal Brinkman has announced that Ton van Mil and Bas Brinkman are now jointly leading the company as Co-CEOs.
This year will serve as a transition year, the group said, during which van Mil will retain final responsibility while Brinkman further prepares for his future role.
On 1 January 2027, a final handover will take place, with Brinkman assuming the position of CEO of Royal Brinkman.
Together with CFO Gert-Jan van Peer, he will then form the statutory board of management, the group said.
From 2027 onwards, Ton van Mil will continue to be involved on a more strategic level, contributing to the company’s further development.
Royal Brinkman noted that the transition forms part of a long-term vision and is built on a strong and stable foundation, “reaffirming the continuity that has characterised Royal Brinkman since 1885”.
According to van Mil, the move aligns naturally with the company’s development.
“We are doing this at our own pace and from a position of strength,” he outlined. ”2026 will be a year in which experience and renewal reinforce one another.”
“As the fifth generation, I am building on the values that have made Royal Brinkman strong,” Brinkman added.
“We will continue to support growers worldwide with solutions that truly contribute to their cultivation.”
Royal Brinkman stated that it will remain ”firmly focused on innovation, resilient cultivation systems, reliability, and international growth within professional horticulture”.
