Damco has announced that it has appointed Simon Joslin to the role of director of strategic development in the UK and Ireland, responsible for strategic sales channel and supply chain development.
Mr Joslin, who joins the group from APL Logistics, has over 20 years experience within the logistics and supply chain industry, having also held the position of director of international logistics at NYK Logistics UK.
'Damco has a defined strategic planfor growth over the nextfive years,' said Mr Joslin. 'I am looking very much forward to supporting this ambitious plan together with our specialists, and I believe that supply chain development is a real differentiator within the industry.'
Martin Thaysen, Damco's global chief commercial officer, added: 'The appointment of Simon is an important step to strength our commercial organisation in the UK and Ireland, which is a significant market for Damco, especially within the retail and apparel and footwear industries. I am confident that Simon will help strengthen Damco's presence in our focus verticals in the UK market even further.'
