No travel? no problem! says Syngenta Vegetable Seeds, which is ensuring growers, seed distributors and partners along the value chain are still equipped with the latest products and innovations despite Covid-19-related restrictions by creating its first live, virtual field day event.

Scheduled for 10 September, 'Syngenta Americas Tour – Live! A Virtual Cucurbits Experience' is free to register for and attend, and will highlight the latest commercial and experimental cucurbit innovations in the Syngenta portfolio.

During the event, which will be remotely broadcast from Woodland, attendees will have the opportunity to tune in for multiple sessions, then participate in Q&A sessions with the Syngenta vegetables breeding and sales team.

“Our goal was to create an interactive and engaging must-attend event that connects Syngenta with its growers and stakeholders in the vegetable seed community,” said Javier Martinez-Cabrera, head of the Americas, vegetable seeds at Syngenta. “We see it as an opportunity to show our versatility and to do more: adapting our traditional field days into an exciting new experience and inviting audiences who don’t typically have the chance to attend.”

Syngenta said that the virtual platform allows attendees to discover more about the R&D that is fuelling innovation and the resulting solutions that make a real difference in the field.

Each session of the event will have its own regional focus, covering topics and varieties of key interest for those demographics, as well as speakers in multiple languages.

The morning session will focus on South America, Central America and the Caribbean, with the afternoon portion of the event looking at the US, Canadian and Mexican markets.
