The seedless mandarin is recognised by consumers in Spain and Portugal
Tango Fruit, the seedless mandarin brand, developed by Eurosemillas, has been awarded the Flavour of the Year prize in Spain and Portugal.

The awards are one of the most prestigious distinctions in the agri-food sector, evaluated by a consumer panel and supported by analyses from specialised external laboratories that measure sensory satisfaction.
“Until now, Tango Fruit has been linked to the value of sustainability represented by the image of a smiling bee – because it allows growers and beekeepers to coexist without the need for netting or pesticides to isolate the plantations from these valuable pollinators – and, related to this, to a quality factor demanded by mandarin buyers – seedlessness,” said Eurosemillas director Juan José de Dios.
“Now, these tastings have confirmed the spontaneous pleasure our mandarins generate through their appearance, aroma, texture, and, of course, their flavour.”
In 2026 Tango Fruit will be marketed in 10 countries – South Africa, Portugal, Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and Luxembourg.
