More than 1,000 Andalusian food companies, including a number of fresh produce exporters, have taken part in Andalucía Sabor 2011, a trade exhibition showcasing the wide range of goods produced in the southern Spanish region.

The third edition of the event, which has been held this week in Seville, has attracted more than 60 buyers from 17 countries among visitor numbers estimated at over 7,000, according to organisers.

During the fair’s three-day duration, visitors have been treated to cooking demonstrations by leading Spanish chefs, including Dani García and Juan Mari Arzak, which are intended to highlight Andalusian produce and the benefits of following the Mediterranean diet.

Among the regional fresh produce companies taking part in Andalucía Sabor, which ends on 22 September, have been Unica Group, RioTinto Cítricos and Horticola Sierra.
