Company’s consolidated turnover for 2024/25 exceeds €800mn for first time
Unica Group posted a record consolidated turnover of €806mn for the 2024/25 campaign. The figure includes services provided by its member cooperatives, such as supplies and fuel.
Sales of fruits and vegetables – its core business – climbed 19 per cent on last year to €740mn. Of this, almost 50 per cent was due to the growth of existing cooperatives. “This positive trend is down to the fact that, following sustained good results, our growth is attracting new member farmers to the cooperatives already operating within the group,” Unica said. “Adding to this organic growth are new additions, such as Surinver and Segura y García, who joined last season.”
This year’s Fruit Attraction will serve as the backdrop for the launch of the Unica Agribusiness Centre, a hub for technological, scientific, and commercial transformation in Southern Europe.
At the fair, the company will showcase the brand-new facilities, designed to be a value-creation centre for the fruits and vegetables produced by Unica’s member cooperatives. Its approach is based on an interactive relationship with the market, giving the centre the capacity to adapt to emerging trends and anticipate consumer demands, working hand in hand with retailers.
This year, Unica will also present the latest addition to its range: avocados. As part of its expansion and diversification strategy, the group has taken a decisive step into the organic avocado market with the arrival of the Cooperativa del Campo Guadiaro y San Martín del Tesorillo (Tesoricoop), both located in the Sierra de los Alcornocales (Cádiz). These cooperatives, specialised in the production of organic avocados and citrus, will contribute a combined annual volume of 15,000 tonnes to Unica, of which 5,000 tonnes will be avocados.
With the aim of promoting healthy eating, Unica said it is committed to becoming an important player in the fresh and ready-to-eat market, bringing vegetable consumption to the new generations through practical and quick solutions. Among the new products being presented at the fair is The Chef in You line, with innovative offerings such as packs of sliced, washed, and wavy sweet potatoes, ready to cook in an air fryer.
“This range is designed for both the end consumer and the Horeca channel, as it offers multiple cuts and formats adapted to the needs of the hotel, restaurant, and catering industries,” the company said. “Each product is carefully prepared to ensure freshness, quality, and time savings in the kitchen, while maintaining intact flavour and nutritional values.”
Unica will be at Fruit Attraction at Hall 9, Stand D03.
