US avocado supplier West Pak is challenging organic produce conventions with a gold-yellow rebrand of its organic avocado programme

West Pak Avocado has announced a “major refinement” to its organic avocado programme, unveiling a new visual identity and expanded merchandising tools.
Launching this summer and debuting at the Organic Produce Summit, the programme introduces refreshed branded packaging for bagged avocados.
The company has called the initiative ’The Bright Side of Organic’.
The group pointed out that the industry has previously relied on the colour purple as the default visual shorthand for organic produce, which has created a ”sea of visual uniformity” across the produce aisle.
West Pak’s strategic shift to a poppy, gold-yellow backdrop is designed to break with convention, it noted, ”signalling vitality and optimism” while helping the fruit stand out against traditional packaging.
“This move to bright yellow is a deliberate strategy to refresh the organic avocado experience,” said West Pak Avocado CEO Mario Pacheco.
“We are pivoting away from old industry standards to reflect the vitality of our fruit and ensure West Pak remains synonymous with organic integrity.”
The new programme offers retailers a practical solution to maximise their organic category performance, the company continued.
By differentiating products at a glance, West Pak aims to capture the attention of modern, health-conscious shoppers who view organic produce as a lifestyle choice.
By aligning West Pak’s visual identity with evolving consumer preferences, the company is looking to provide retailers with a ”powerful tool” to drive increased engagement and loyalty within the organic department.
“Retailers are constantly seeking ways to distinguish their organic sections,” explained West Pak Avocado vice-president of sales and business development Joe Nava.
“Our new branded packaging for organic avocados provides that competitive edge by creating immediate, high-visibility shelf differentiation that signals the consumer, all while supported by our consistent, premium supply chain.”
