Wim Destoop plans to take on board and consultancy roles in Belgium after three years with avocado and fruit supplier

Wim Destoop has announced he is to leave fresh produce supplier Westfalia Fruit, after three years with the company.
Destoop joined Westfalia as its European president in October 2023 before taking on the role of global chief customer officer soon afterwards.
Prior to that, he spent more than 30 years in the food and beverage industry working for various businesses including Carrefour, Danone, and PepsiCo.
Confirming his departure on LinkedIn, Destoop said: “I have decided it is the right moment for a new chapter.I will now focus my time on board roles, consultancy projects and leadership assignments within Belgian-based companies.”
He added: “I am incredibly grateful for my time at Westfalia Fruit and would like to thank all my colleagues across the business for their support, partnership and commitment throughout this journey.
“The avocado category, alongside avocado-based products, continues to have a very bright future. Consumer demand and global growth opportunities across regions remain strong, and I am confident the industry and Westfalia Fruit will continue to thrive in the years ahead.”
