Evesham fruit importer Wellpak is launching a new salads business unit that will supply products including cucumbers, tomatoes, garlic and peppers.
The venture will be headed up by new recruit Rebecca Quiney, who joins the business as commercial manager.
Quiney previously spent over 12 years as trading director at neighbouring grower and importer Samsara, where she was responsible for procurement and category management across all accounts, including sales and development of new business.
The news comes after a recent flurry of new appointments to the company. Previous Mars and Britvic employee Robert Meath was named as national account manager and will be based in Evesham, while the company’s exotic vegetable buyer Tim Beattie has been promoted to trading manager at one of the firm’s three service formats, Wellpak Direct.
Wellpak was previously based around five product categories: berries, exotic vegetables and legumes, grapes, exotic fruit, cherries as well as offering its bespoke service option Wellpak Complement.
It supplies into the multiple retail, convenience, symbol groups, processing and foodservice sectors.
