Fruit and veg

A woman has said she’s cured herself of various ailments including migraines by eating only fruit.

Saša Dedić, from Slovenia, now classes herself as a ‘fruitarian’, eating only fruit and some salad and seeds, Mail Online reported.

She said the new diet, which is against the advice of nutritionists, has cured her of migraines, acne and yeast infections.

She now buys her fruit in bulk, with a typical meal consisting of some salad items and seasonal fruit.

Nutritionist Shani Shaker told the Mail: “Adopting a fruitarian diet may help with weight loss in the short term but it's not nutritionally adequate on an ongoing basis and can lead to health problems if followed indefinitely.

“A plant-based diet can lead to deficiencies of calcium, vitamin D, B12 and iron.”
