Having been placed in liquidation last week with the aim of being operated as a 'going concern', Agrexco is continuing to attract interest from potential buyers, according to reports in the country.

Financial publication Globes reported that three companies are interested in acquiring the fresh produce exporter, with representatives apparently meeting with employees, banks and court-appointed trustee Shlomo Nass to discuss the offers.

The groups in question are CAL Cargo Airlines owner Ofer Gilboa, US-based agricultural transportation group owner Aaron Frum, and Bickel Flowers owner Gideon Bickel, Globes noted.

Bids for Agrexco are thought to be 'relatively low', worth 'several tens of millions of shekels', a sharp downturn on 2010 when the company was valued at some NIS600m (€118.5m) in government privatisation proposals.
